Sorting spirals are standard components in coal and mineral processing, and soil remediation. Sorting spirals are also used to recover fine sand and separate coal particles from sand.

The optimum grain size range in the feed to spirals is 0,1 to 3 mm.

MAB sorting spirals are characterised by

  • Low investment cost
  • Low operational cost
  • High separation efficiency
  • Flexible splitter adjustment when the feed is changing
  • High availability

For selecting and dimensioning the spiral type and designing the complete installation we normally perform some tests in our pilot plant.
This allows us to tailor design the installation to the specific client needs.

The spiral modules are mounted in a frame with the pulp distribution system which is required for highest recovery rates.

All parts of the sorting spirals in contact with the pulp are coated with wear resistant polyurethane.
